9 Place Setting Slimline Capacity

Despite its compact 45cm format, the CDA SCD4509 accommodates 9 place settings, providing useful capacity for plates, bowls, cups, glasses, cutlery and everyday cookware.

The interior has two grey baskets, with a height-adjustable upper basket that allows the loading arrangement to be adapted for taller items. Folding racks in the lower basket provide additional flexibility when loading larger dishes and cookware.

Five Wash Programmes

CDA provides five programmes covering intensive cleaning, everyday loads and quicker washes:

1. Intensive – 205 minutes, 1.378kWh and 15.3L; intended for heavily soiled items.
   
2. Universal – 175 minutes, 1.287kWh and 13.1L for general everyday washing.
   
3. Eco – 235 minutes, 0.704kWh and 9L; the most efficient programme for normally soiled tableware.
   
4. 90 Minute – 90 minutes, 1.234kWh and 10.2L.
   
5. Rapid – 30 minutes, 0.611kWh and 10L for lighter loads requiring a faster wash.
   

This combination makes the SCD4509 suitable for everything from heavily soiled dinnerware to lightly used dishes that need cleaning quickly.

Half Load Function

The Half Load option is useful when there aren't enough dirty dishes to justify waiting for a full dishwasher.

CDA includes a dedicated Half Load button on the control panel, allowing smaller quantities of crockery to be washed more conveniently.

Residual Heat Drying

The SCD4509 uses Residual Heat Drying. Heat remaining inside the dishwasher after the final hot rinse helps dry the contents without requiring a separate high-powered drying system.

This should not be confused with an automatic-opening drying system: CDA's current manufacturer specification specifically lists Residual Heat Drying for this model.

3, 6 or 9-Hour Delay Timer

A 3/6/9-hour delay timer allows the start of a programme to be postponed. This can be useful for households wanting the dishwasher to operate later in the day or overnight.

An acoustic end-of-programme signal lets you know when the wash has finished.

LED Indicators

The integrated control panel includes a white LED display, together with separate LED salt and rinse-aid indicators.

These indicators provide a convenient reminder when dishwasher salt or rinse aid needs replenishing.

Water Softener

The SCD4509 incorporates an adjustable water-softening system, an important feature for UK households in hard-water areas.

CDA's manual provides six water-softener settings (H1–H6) so the appliance can be configured according to local water hardness. The factory setting is H3.

Correctly setting the water softener can help reduce mineral deposits and improve washing performance, particularly in areas with hard mains water.
