Bosch Series 6 PCP6A5I90 (30) 4 Burner Gas Hob in Stainless Steel - (New Packed) - HW182830

FlameSelect – nine precise flame levels

The major advantage of the PCP6A5I90 over a conventional gas hob is FlameSelect. Rather than relying solely on visually estimating the flame position, Bosch provides nine clearly defined power levels.

This gives the user much more repeatable control over gas cooking: lower settings can be used for gentle simmering and reducing sauces, while higher settings provide the stronger heat required for boiling and frying. Bosch describes FlameSelect as providing precise adjustment through nine defined flame levels.

For customers who enjoy cooking with gas but want a degree of control closer to the stepped power settings found on an induction hob, FlameSelect is one of this model's strongest features.

Four gas burners

The PCP6A5I90 has four gas burners, providing a useful range of outputs for different cookware and cooking requirements:

Burner Maximum output

Left front 1.75kW standard burner

Left rear 1.75kW standard burner

Right rear 3.0kW high-speed burner

Right front 1.0kW economy burner

This produces a combined maximum gas connection rating of 7.5kW. Actual burner output can vary according to the gas type being used.

The 3.0kW high-speed burner is particularly useful for larger pans, rapid boiling and higher-heat frying, while the 1.0kW economy burner is better suited to smaller cookware, sauces and gentle simmering.

Continuous cast-iron pan supports

Bosch equips the hob with substantial cast-iron pan supports with rubber feet. The continuous design provides a stable cooking surface and makes it easier to move pans between burners without having to lift them completely away from the hob.

Unlike many traditional cast-iron supports, Bosch specifies the supports on the PCP6A5I90 as dishwasher suitable, helping simplify cleaning after cooking.

Removable metal control knobs

The hob has four front-mounted metal control dials, keeping burner adjustment within easy reach.

Ignition is integrated directly into the controls: simply push and turn the appropriate dial to ignite the burner, eliminating the need for a separate ignition button.

The control knobs are also removable, allowing the stainless-steel area underneath and around them to be cleaned more easily. Combined with dishwasher-suitable pan supports, this makes maintenance considerably simpler than on many conventional gas hobs.

Flame-failure safety protection

Each burner incorporates a flame-failure safety device.

If a flame is accidentally extinguished—for example by a draught or liquid boiling over—the system automatically cuts off the gas supply to that burner rather than allowing unburned gas to continue flowing.

This is an essential safety feature for a modern UK gas hob.

Stainless-steel frameless design

The PCP6A5I90 has a classic stainless-steel cooking surface with a frameless design.

The stainless-steel finish coordinates particularly well with Bosch built-in ovens, cooker hoods and other stainless-steel kitchen appliances, making it a strong option for contemporary and traditional fitted kitchens alike.

Despite being marketed as a 60cm hob, the actual appliance width is 582mm, allowing it to fit into the standard worktop format used by many UK kitchens.

Natural gas with LPG conversion kit

The PCP6A5I90 is factory configured for natural gas. Bosch also supplies a nozzle set for conversion to LPG G30/G31 at 28–30/37mbar.

The Bosch Series 6 PCP6A5I90 is a premium 60cm four-burner gas hob in stainless steel, designed for UK kitchens where the responsiveness of gas cooking is combined with more precise flame adjustment. Its standout feature is Bosch FlameSelect, which provides nine defined flame levels, alongside sturdy continuous cast-iron pan supports, front-mounted metal controls, automatic ignition and flame-failure protection.
